During Virginia Private College Week, you will learn about the quality and affordability of our colleges.
Private colleges are different from many state universities because of our small classes and the personal attention our students receive from faculty. Our students are engaged in the classroom, involved on campus, and prepared for a career or graduate school.
Web sites, brochures, and the recommendations of friends are definitely helpful. However, visiting campuses in person is one of the most important - steps in the college search process.
Which college is the best fit for you? Which college just feels right?

24 members of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV) host two daily Open House programs for rising juniors and seniors -- and their families. The program includes a campus tour and an information session about admissions, financial aid, and academic/extracurricular programs.
On Monday-Friday (July 28 - August 1), there will be a morning (9 am) and afternoon (2 pm) session.* On Saturday, August 2, there will be a morning (9 am) session only.** Colleges with exceptions to this schedule are listed below.
Save Money With Virginia Private College Week!
You may be interested in just visiting one or two colleges during the week. However, if you visit three or more participating colleges, you will receive three application fee waivers. That means NO APPLICATION FEE for three Virginia private colleges of your choice. The fee waivers will be accepted by any CICV member college. You can certainly use them to apply to the colleges you visited, but the other CICV member colleges will also accept them.
